About
The fields are points of interest in the object surface from which light rays are launched for most analysis calculations and also for optimization when spot diagram merit functions are used.
---number---
It is the field identifier.
---x and y---
They are the coordinates of the field respectively along the “X” and “Y” axis of the object surface. The x and y units are either “mm” if the object is at finite distance or “degree” if it is at infinity. Note that in this last case, the field is positive if it is associated to a rotation in the direct sense.
---active---
A field can be used in the calculations only if the related active check box is checked otherwise it is ignored. Note that one or all active field(s) can be selected in the Options table for analysis calculations. A single field can be selected by its identifier.
---weight---
The weight is a positive number characterizing the importance of the field. It is only used in the "best focus" calculation.
