This table is used to select glasses from the various catalogs according to several parameters.
manufacturer cell enables to select a glass manufacturer. Obviously, when "All" is selected, the related criterion is not taken into account in the selection. "Generic" groups commonly used materials which are not labeled as manufacturers reference. "Theoretical" groups theoretical glasses with parameters which are not those of generic materials or manufacturers references.
reference defines the reference of the glass to be selected. As each reference is normally unique, If this cell is filled, no other selection criterion should be used. If this cell is empty, the related criterion is obviously not taken into account.
min. index defines the lower value authorized for the refractive index at 587,56 nm. If this cell is empty, the related criterion is obviously not taken into account.
max. index defines the maximum value authorized for the refractive index at 587,56 nm. If this cell is empty, the related criterion is obviously not taken into account.
min. Vd defines the minimum value authorized for the constringence "Vd" (as defined in the related tutorial). If this cell is empty, the related criterion is obviously not taken into account.
max. Vd defines the maximum value authorized for the constringence "Vd" (as defined in the related tutorial). If this cell is empty, the related criterion is obviously not taken into account.
wavelength defines the minimum wavelength of interest. Therefore, only glasses with a "minimum wavelength" (enabling a high enough transmission) smaller than the entered value are selected. Note that the definition of the "minimum wavelength" depends on the manufacturer. For some glasses, this wavelength is not defined. In this case, the assigned value is "0". These glasses are therefore selected whatever the entered value. If this cell is empty, the related criterion is obviously not taken into account.
The results are displayed in a table at the left of the selection table. The columns are he following:
nd is the refraction index of the reference at 587,56 nm.
ne is the refraction index of the reference at 546.07 nm.
Vd is the constringence "Vd" as defined in the relevant tutorial ( "features" -> "tutorials" -> "using glass catalogs").
Ve is the constringence "Ve" as defined in the relevant tutorial ( "features" -> "tutorials" -> "using glass catalogs").
min. wavelength is the minimum wavelength defined by the manufacturer for a high enough transmission.
