about
A plane monochromatic wave is diffracted by a rectangular slit and is focused with a lens. This produces, in the back focal plane of the lens, a diffraction pattern with a central bright segment perpendicular tho the slit. The page calculates the width of the central bright segment as a function of the slit width, the wavelength and the focal length.
