about
The gaussian beam (more exactly in this case "the embedded gaussian beam") propagates along the Z axis. It is shaped by a curved refracting surface. The page calculates the position and the radius of the emerging beam waist as functions of the radius of the refracting surface, the refraction indexes before and after the surface, the wavelength, the M2 factor as well as the position and radius of the incident beam waist.
