about
The gaussian beam (more exactly in this case "the embedded gaussian beam") propagates along the Z axis. The beam is transmitted by a lens interfacing different media. The page calculates the position and the radius of the emerging beam waist as functions of the radii of the lens surfaces, the lens thickness, the refraction index of the lens, the refraction indexes before and after the lens, the wavelength, the M2 factor as well as the position and radius of the incident beam waist.
